Holiday Hitters - Victoria/North Vancouver: Quick Hits

Earlier this month, the Prep Baseball BC staff hosted it's part in Prep Baseball Canada's Holiday Hitters Series with the Hitters-Only Showcases in Victoria (Harbourcats Player Club) and North Vancouver (Inside Performance). These two events featured roughly 38 players from both the Island and the Mainland in the 2024 - 2028 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at how players are progressing this winter as players received several extended rounds of BP utilizing our TrackMan and Blast Motion sensors for the complete breakdown and metrics.

Last week, we started our post-event coverage with our Hitting Data Dive article and we conclude our post-event coverage today with this Quick Hits article that provides scouting notes and video on six standout prospects from the two events.

HOLIDAY HITTERS - VICTORIA/NORTH VANCOUVER: QUICK HITS

Joshua Romero OF / RHP / Westview Secondary , BC / 2028

Romero showed major upside stepping into the box for the Holiday Hitters Event in Vancouver, BC. The 6-foot-2, 158-pound 2028 grad stood out with natural acceleration with the barrel accumulating major torque for his young frame. The up-and-comer showcased twitchiness and spark in his bat, topping out with an 87.2mph exit velocity. With untapped raw ability combined with his natural athleticism, the young Abbotsford Cardinal is a must follow for years to come.

Xander Guedes 3B / RHP / Seycove, BC / 2025

Guedes stands out as one of the more prominent hitters in BC’s 2025 class. A simple, yet explosive swing approach showcased an average exit velocity of 90.9mph, which also peaked at 98.8mph. Eight of his 24 swings were 95mph+. Guedes swing is tailored for middle to left field with flashes of opposite field power. Guedes creates immense timing forgiveness with the ability to adapt to all pitch locations. The North Shore Twin is one of the most intriguing 2025 bats to follow for the upcoming BCPBL season. 

Carter Bestebroer C / SS / Unity Christian School, BC / 2026

Bestebroer was a first time attendee who made his name known at this event. Plenty of line drives back up the middle coming from a smooth swing. The Chilliwack Cougars product will be a left-handed hitting athlete to follow this spring with his versatility in the box and in the field. A good balance of power and quickness with an exit velocity consistently in the high 80s, reaching a peak of 93mph. Bestebroer uses his lower-half well, keeps his hands connected and drives the ball gap-to-gap. Very intriguing prospect in BC’s 2026 class as he adds more size and strength.

Caine Fahrni SS / C / Killarney, BC / 2026

Fahrni was one of the standouts with several loud rounds of batting practice. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound 2026 grad stood out with the ability to maintain controlled aggression throughout his three rounds. He loads up his back leg well while using that as a tool to explode through the ball. He consistently elevated back up the middle and to his pull-side gap reaching a peak exit velocity of 92.5mph. The underclassman will be a player to keep eyes on as he continues to mature and develop.

 

Logan Booth OF / RHP / GW Graham, BC / 2025

Booth showed again why he is one of the top left-handed hitters in BC’s 2025 class. One of the loudest rounds of the day with a peak exit velocity of 97.1mph. Booth showed middle of the order power and will be making an offensive impact for the Langley Blaze this spring. At 6-foot-1, 212-pounds, Booth has an athletic presence in the box and a smooth swing that can drive the ball with power to all fields. An athlete with a big bat to follow over the spring as he continues to grow and develop.

Christian Goodson 1B / 3B / Belmont Secondary , BC / 2025

Goodson, who stands at 6-foot-2, 245-pounds, is one of the more physical right-handed bats in BC’s 2025 class. He utilizes a high leg-kick to drive off his back leg and explode through the zone, all while maintaining balance throughout his swing despite the major power output. He also generates plenty of bat speed, reaching 75mph. 50% of his batted balls had an exit velocity of 89mph+, peaking at 97.5mph. The raw power Goodson possesses is impressive, and it’ll be intriguing to see how it translates in-game.
