Preseason Preview: Buhach Colony Thunder

PBR California Staff

New Episode LIVE now! At The Yard Podcast

COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.

We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:

Coming off a tremendous 2019 season going 25-7, the Thunder are excited to be back out on the field and get back to competing again in 2021. The Central California Conference will have lots of teams working to show off who the best is in a season without section playoffs and Buhach Colony is expecting to compete for that title again this season. Bringing back 6 starters and 4 pitchers gives the Thunder some ability to do damage and they expect their pitching and defense to carry them. With the experience from their returners, the Thunder are going to rely on them to perform and help lead the younger players back to expectations after a shortened 2020 season. With Co-Head Coaches in Coach Wakefield (20 years) and Coach Medeiros (7 years) leading this group, the players will know the experience is there and that’s something they can lean on for a successful 2021 season.
