In an excellent high school baseball game, two of the states quality programs squared off in a 5A  Match Up with Fairview holding off Mountain Vista 4-2.
2021, Finley Daecher, LHP  for Fairview pitched 6 2/3 innings holding powerful Mountain Vista to 2 runs scattering 9 hits using a sidearm, almost submarine arm slot.  2021, Luke Silverman got the big hit for Fairview with a two rbi single up the middle in the bottom of the 6th to give Fairview the lead.  Fairview played excellent defense with no errors and used some small ball early to score their first run, they also were outstanding on the bases with some aggressive base running.
Vista battled hard throughout the game with some outstanding pitching from senior righthander , 2021, Blake Shepardson, RHP, (Regis U Commit) who kept Fairview off balance with an excellent overhand curveball and a three pitch mix pitching 5 2/3 innings.  Sam Krysa led the way for Vista with two hits, including an rbi single.  Sean Marlow added a big rbi double and Trey Dunn had an infield single and then a single to cf.
For Fairview, 2022, Gabe Springer, SS, (Stanford Commit)  barreled two balls for hard singles with a stolen base and 2021, Adam Moser, OF (Oklahoma Commit) added some outstanding defense for the Knights.  Fairview is a very athletic team that allows their athleticism to work on both offense and defense and creates problems for their opposition.
The Knights and Coach David Castillo will look forward to their Friday morning match with Valor Christian.

Valor Christian jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, putting up three runs in the first and 4 runs in the second and allowed 2022, Brant Kragel, RHP/1B to pitch a complete game limiting Fort Collins to 1 run on 6 hits.  Offensively, Kragel led off the game with a triple and followed up in his second at bat with a single to centerfield.  2021, Blake Wilson, MIF (Ft Scott CC Commit) was the hitting star for Valor with a double in the first inning and a three rbi bases loaded triple in the second inning.  The Eagles built up the lead and then just cruised to a 10-1 victory.
Fort Collins battled throughout with Teagen Crow collecting two hits, 2021 Will Togher, 3B/1B, (Northeastern JC Commit)  showing outstanding power with a hard hit double to right center along with 2024 Sean Togher, C  a freshmen catcher who hit the ball hard and showed a fearless approach defensively and displaying leadership behind the plate, he also used  numerous back picks starting in the very first inning, with continued development, he will be an outstanding catcher in the future for the Lambkins.
The Lambkins ended an outstanding season and Coach Wagner should be very proud of the way his Lambkins improved over the season.
