PBR Underclassmen Showcase at Goshen College: Best of Rest



Here is the best of the rest from the PBR Underclassmen Showcase ate Goshen College (Listed in alphabetical order by last name)...

James Brashaber, OF/LHP, Rushville, 2013: Brashaber is a 6’1, 167 pound prospect. At the plate he showed the ability to produce good pop when he stayed on top of the baseball. Brashaber was one of the better outfielders at the event. He moved well fielding the ball and had good footwork.

Aaron Buckner, RHP/1B, New Buffalo (MI), 2013: Buckner is a 6’, 185 pound pitcher that had one of the better arms at the event. On the mound Buckner topped out at 80 mph with his fastball. Buckner also throws two other pitches for strikes a curve (65 mph) and a change (70 mph).

Drew Burgess, OF/2B, North Ridge HS, 2013: Burgess is a quick 5’9, 155 pound prospect. He ran one of the better times at the event in the 60 at 7.15. He moves well in both the infield and outfield show a good arm that topped out at 77 mph. At the plate he has a balanced swing with quick hands and barrels the ball well.

Tyler Byerly, SS/RHP, Washington, 2013: Byerly is 5’11, 168 pound middle infielder. In the infield he moved well and projects as a second baseman. Byerly also ran well posting a 7.15 in the 60. At the plate he is a pull hitter that gets his hands through the zone well. On the mound he has three pitches with his fastball topping out at 78.

Cody Chase, RHP/1B, Carroll, 2013: Chase is a 6’1, 180 pound right handed pitcher that was one of the harder throwers at the event. His fastball was up to 82 mph with a little arm side run. He threw two other pitches for strikes a 69 mph curve and a 71 mph change that had some movement.

Hunter Clark, LHP/1B, Penn, 2014: Clark is a 6’1, 175 pound prospect that had one of the best 60 times at the event, 7.06. At the plate from the left side he is a pull hitter that produces some good lines drive swings when he gets to extension. On the mound he topped out at 80 with his fastball and showed two more pitches that he could throw for strikes.

Kevin Council, OF/SS, LaPorte, 2015: Council moved well in the outfield and show good mechanics fielding the ball. At the plate from the left side he barreled the ball well and projects to be a line drive hitter.

Ravaughn Crowley, 2B/SS, Morgan Park (IL), 2013: Crowley is a 5’9, 155 pound middle infielder from Illinois. Crowley had one of the best 60 times at the event posting a 7.11. In the infield he moved well while field the ball. At the plate he projects as a line drive hitter.

Mason Eldridge, OF, Concord, 2013: Eldridge has good size at 6’1, 180 pounds. At the plate he is a pull hitter that can produce some pop to the left side. From the outfield he showed a strong arm that topped out at 77 mph.

Joshua Frantz, 2B/OF, Warsaw HS, 2013: Frantz moved well in the infield showing a decent arm that topped out at 70 across the diamond. At the plate he has quick hands with a short compact swing and projects as a line drive hitter.

Augistin Guerrero, SS/RHP, George Washington (IL), 2014: Guerrero is a 6’, 160 pound prospect that had one of the better gloves at the event. In the infield he showed smooth hands and moved well. At the plate from the left side he showed a short compact swing and pulled the ball well.

Tanner Hampton, 3B/2B, Rochester HS, 2014: Hampton is a 5’9, 145 pound third baseman. In the field he showed good arm strength across the diamond (78) with carry on his throws. At the plate Hampton was one of the better hitters at the event. He showed an athletic swing that was aggressive. With physical maturity Tanner projects to hit with some power.

Jordan Hochstetler, 2B/SS, Fairfield, 2013: Hochstetler is a 5’10, 170 pound middle infielder. In the infield he moved well and showed good range fielding ground balls. At the plate he projects to be a line drive hitter.

Cyrus Holland, RHP/3B, Rochester, 2014: Holland is a 6’, 165 pound prospect. Holland moved well in the infield and showed some athletic ability. At the plate he projects as a line drive hitter. On the mound he has four different pitches that he can throw for strikes.

Rob Huette, RHP, Willowbrook (IL), 2013: Huette is a 6’,135 pound right handed pitcher. Huette’s fastball topped out at 78 mph and showed some late arm side run. He showed the ability to throw his 12-6 curveball for a strike. He also had a change that he was able to keep down in the zone.

William Kirkwood, C/1B, Northwood, 2014: Kirkwood has good size for a sophomore at 6’1, 180 pounds. He shows good mechanics behind the plate with a pop time in the 2.2s and his arm topped at 71 mph. At the plate Kirkwood has a good swing plane and when he gets the barrell through the zone he produces good pop.

Matt Kotva, IF/OF, Concord, 2013: Kotva is 5’10, 150 pound prospect. In the infield he showed good hands when picking the ball. At the plate he showed some pop up the middle and to the left side.

Jared Lemler, C/3B, Warsaw, 2013: Lemler is a 5’10, 165 pound catcher that had an event best pop time of 2.06. Behind the plate he has a quick release to go along with a decent arm (70 mph). At the plate he barreled the ball well and projects as a line drive hitter.

Jesse Lopez, SS/RHP, Washington, 2013: Lopez is a 5’11, 160 pound prospect that was one of the better infielders at the event. Lopez showed good range with a quick release and a decent arm (76). At the plate he showed a good line drive swing when he kept his hands on top of the baseball. On the mound he showed a fastball that topped out at 80 mph.

Adrian Luna, 3B/SS, George Washington (IL), 2013: Luna is a 5’9, 140 pound prospect from Illinois. On the mound he showed some good velocity with his fastball topping out at 80 mph. At the plate he projects to be a line drive hitter.

Taylor Miller, MI/OF, Concord, 2013: Miller is a 5’8 170 pound prospect that moved well in fielding groundballs, but projects more as a third baseman. At the plate he showed a strong swing with the ability to produce some good pop when he gets to extension.

Rece Misura, RHP/3B, Concord, 2014: Misura is a 5’8, 180 prospect. From the mound Misura topped out a 79 mph. He also threw two other pitches for strikes a curve (69) and a change (69). In the field he showed good mechanics and a good arm (75). At the plate he has a long swing, but barrelled the ball well producing some good pop.

Michael Namisnak, 1B/OF, Elkhart Central, 2013:
Namisnak is a 6’, 170 pound prospect that plays infield and outfield. From the outfield he showed a good arm that topped out a 76 mph. At the plate he showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields.

J.C. Obringer, LHP/1B, St. Joseph’s, 2013: Obringer has good size at 6’4, 195 pounds. Across the infield from first base he was 74 mph. On the mound he topped out at 77 with his fastball. He also threw two other pitches for striks a curve (66) and a change (64).

Stephen Pinarski, 3B/RHP, Concord, 2014: Pinarski is a 5’9, 140 pound prospect that had one of the better arms at the event. In the infield he moved and picked the ball well then displayed a strong arm that topped out at 81 mph. At the plate he is a pull hitter that projects as a line drive hitter. On the mound he topped out at 78 mph with the ability to throw two off speed pitches for strikes.

Matt Pritz, C/3B, LaPorte HS, 2015: Pritz has good size for a freshman at 6’1, 155 pounds. He plays two positions and was up to 68 mph from the field. At the plate he projects as a line drive hitter. 

Vince Ravotto, OF, Marian, 2013: Ravotto is a 5’10, 150 pound prospect that had an event best time in the 60 at 6.8. At the plate he has quick hands from the left side and projects as a line drive hitter.

Connor Slabach, LHP/OF, Concord, 2013: Slabach moved well in the outfield and show good mechanics fielding and throwing. At the plate when he got to extension he should the ability to hit good line drives to different parts of the field.

Sam Stahley, 1B/OF, Northridge, 2014: Stahley is a 6’, 165 pound prospect with good hands. At the plate when he is able to get to extension he produces some good line drive pop. At first he fielded the ball well and moved well.

Jacob Stauffer, LHP/1B, Concord, 2013: Stauffer is a 5’10, 158 pound left handed pitcher. From the left side his fastball was up to 73 mph with a little glove side run. He threw is curve (65) for a strike and kept it down in the zone. Stauffer also threw a change that was in the mid-60s.

Jacob Tucker, LHP/OF, Elkhart Memorial, 2014: Tucker is a 6’1, 150 pound prospect. In the outfield he moved well fielding the ball and showed a good arm that topped out at 75 mph. At the plate he has an uppercut swing that produces good pop when he stays on top of the baseball.

Jake Vernon, C/3B, Concord, 2015: Vernon has good size for a freshman at 6’, 175 pounds.  At the plate he has good line drive swing. As he gets older he should develop some pretty good pop at the plate.

James Whiteman, RHP/OF, LaVille, 2015: Whiteman has good size for a freshman at 6’, 150 pounds. On the mound Whiteman throws sidearm with his fastball topping out at 72 mph and showed a curve that was up to 66 mph.

Kyle Yoder, RHP, Northridge, 2012: Yoder is a 6’1, 170 unsigned senior. Yoder threw with ease from the right side and looked to have more in the tank. His fastball topped out at 79 mph and he was able to consistently throw it for a strike. Yoder also threw two other pitches for strikes a 12-6 curve (65) and a change (67) that he kept low in the zone.
