Pitchers

Ethan Doty, RHP Highlands HS, 2017
Scouting Report 10/14/14 -
5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect uses long arm action through a high-3/4 arm slot, arm is loose and works cleanly, has a deliberate delivery and stays online, fastball showed occasional cut action and sat 82-83 mph touching 84 on one occasion, showed some of the best secondary stuff of the day with a sharp 71-73 mph curveball with tight spin and 11/5 action when he stayed on top and advanced feel for his 75-76 mph changeup with good sink and fade, after walking two in his first inning he settled in and struck out the side in his second inning of work, finished his outing allowing no hits with four strikeouts, potential high-level 2017 prospect. Has shown an increase in velocity with FB occasionally touching 86-87 mph.

Davion Downey, LHP/OF, Warren East HS, 2017
Scouting Report 7/26/15 -
The 6-foot, 197-pound lefty hadn’t pitched in two months (did not pitch for summer ball team) before he took the mound for Team PBR in last weekend’s tournament at WKU. Downey’s arm action is clean, and he ran his fastball up to 85 mph in working three innings. While he struggled some with his command in the second inning, he battled through three innings. Downey is an interesting left-hander and will pitch one inning for Team KY at the event.

Blaine Gillim, LHP, Ohio County HS, 2018
Scouting Report 7/23/15 –
6-foot, 165-pound lefty is the top left-hander in Kentucky’s 2018 class. He pitched for Team PBR at WKU tourney and his fastball routinely sat 81-83 mph with a very good 69-70 mph curveball. Gillim reportedly showed more velocity pitching for the Orlando Scorpions this summer. He finished his 5.1 inning outing allowing no hits with three walks and nine strikeouts against the Ironmen 16U team.
