Team Summary

Head Coach Lane Noakes has reignited the Pineville High School baseball program, ever since he took over after the 2019 season, one in which the team struggled, as they went 7-22 overall and 1-9 in district play.  The Rebels will be young and inexperienced, however, they have a solid pitching staff and versatile players on the roster.  Senior Darnell Bayonne, a Northwestern State signee, is at the top of the list of versatile players on this club.  The athletic R/R two-way player has been clocked in the 6.60's for the 60 yard dash and runs his FB into the upper 80's.  Bayonne should also be in the middle of the lineup, as the Rebels will rely on his power to drive in runs.  Senior Connor Morrow, a tall, lean RHP, will be the Rebels #1 starter in 2021.  In a shortened 2020 campaign, Morrow posted a 1.93 ERA over 14 2/3 IP.  Moving onto the offense, Pineville will lean on Bayonne as mentioned above, as well as Senior Kameron Goleman.  Coach Noakes referred to Goleman as their "sparkplug type of player".  Senior Brady Weatherford is another power bat who should be in the middle of the lineup as well to drive in runs.  Behind the dish, the Rebels have Junior Chris Kelley who is an excellent receiver with consistent pop times of 2.00-2.10.  Youngsters Amahri Jackson and Lance Dauzat will also be contibutors offensively for Pineville this spring.  West Monroe High School looks to be the odds on favorite to win District 2-5A behind the likes of Senior OF Josh Pearson (LSU Signee) and Senior LHP Lane Little (ULM Signee).  Coach Noakes has this Pineville program heading in the right direction and they should be a club that gets better and better as the season progresses, as they look to return the LHSAA Class 5-A playoffs and make some noise come late April.
