LAKE CHARLES, LA - The Lake Charles Summer Open was held on May 21st at Barbe HS in Lake Charles, LA. This event was an open event that consisted of some of the top and upcoming talent from the 2024-2028 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on at the event.

Today we will begin releasing our scouting reports from the event, looking at all infielders from the Lake Charles Summer Open.

Starts in an athletic and balanced stance, uses a leg kick load and stride, hands are held at shoulder height Works with an uphill path to contact and uphill extension with a two-handed finish, swings with intent working mostly middle to pull-side, showing the ability to drive the ball to the pull-side 69.3 mph bat speed with 18 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Hit: RHH. Starts in a slightly wider, balanced stance, uses a simple load and stride Turns the barrel aggressively and gets on-plane early with level extension and a two-handed finish, a lot of hard contact to the middle of the field 67.3 mph bat speed with 18 G’s of rotational acceleration.
