Alex Armand & Tyler Leary
Prep Baseball Louisiana Staff

Week 3 of the 2024 high school baseball season is now complete, and our staff was able to get our and see several new teams. Today, we continue our coverage of the 2024 high school season with our Week 3 Scout Blog.  The Louisiana Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from our scouting staff during the high school baseball season. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable.  We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more.

Continue to check back here, as our Louisiana Scouting Staff will add scouting reports, upon the completion of each week.

SATURDAY MARCH 9, 2024

+ 2026 OF Braden Sanders (Zachary HS)

6'5" 190 lbs. projectable frame with long limbs and a ton of room to add strength.  The Zachary product may have earned himself more opportunities this season, after a great day on Saturday.  In two games, against Northshore and Calvary Baptist, he went 3-5 at the plate with 2 RBI and 2 SB.  He faced a really good arm against Calvary Baptist in 2024 LHP Landon Fontenot, and turned in some of the best at-bats of the night off the southpaw.  Sanders struckout in his first at-bat on a really good breaking ball down in the zone, and then turned around an 87 mph FB for a line drive single up the middle in his second at-bat.  He needs to continue to improve his ability to hit breaking balls and his defense and arm, but there's no denying the talent and potential upside that the uncommitted sophomore posseses.
