Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2024 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2024. Throughout the coming weeks, be on the lookout for our MD Public School Top 10, as well as a slew of additional preseason coverage.    

#11 North Hagerstown Hubs 

Possessing some of the deepest and most talented arms across the state, the Hubs enter 2024 with high hopes of making a run for a 3A title this spring. The question mark is very real on the offensive side, however, the athleticism and star power that is showcased on the bump may allow the Hubs to win a slew of low-scoring affairs. 

Led by their senior ace in Mac Stiffler (West Virginia), North Hagerstown will be able to rely on experienced and highly talented arms day in and day out to provide outs and key innings on the bump. Following Stiffler, look for big seasons from fellow senior Henry Ortiz (Towson) and one of the top junior tandems in the state in lefty Ian Kelley (NC State) and righty Henry Lewis (UMBC). If the Hubs can scratch across a few runs consistently, look for this pitching staff to be able to be close to lights out throughout the spring.
