Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2024 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2024. Throughout the coming weeks, be on the lookout for our MD Public School Top 10, as well as a slew of additional preseason coverage.    

#14 Linganore Lancers 

There are high hopes in Frederick County this spring for the Lancers, as Linganore looks to make a deep run through a loaded 3A classification across the state. Returning a plethora of impact players from a year ago, especially on the bump, look for Linganore to be able to match up fairly well with any pitching staff across their region.

A senior led pitching staff with the likes of Stephen Curry (Seton Hall), Zach Dodson (Frostburg State), Austin Perando (Charleston) and Dylan Remphrey (Anne Arundel CC), the Lancers have a strong and highly talented rotation that looks to be at the forefront of the success this spring. 

Offensively, look for seniors Bryce Meyer (Waynesburg) and Gavin Liberto to lead the offensive onslaught this spring, with depth provided by the two-way talents of Curry and Perando throughout the lineup. A "dark horse" to keep eyes on is sophomore two-way Chase Perry that looks to make his presence felt at the varsity level this spring and may provide that spark the Lancers need to make a deep run in 2024.
