With 2023 now in the past, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Saline Hornets

Team Name: Saline Hornets

2023 Record: 28-13
2023 Tourney Finish: Regional Semifinals loss to Hartland
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 2/3

Coach Outlook: "Really excited to coach this group this spring. I feel that we have some really quality young players to go with our established veteran upperclassmen. This is a group that loves the game of baseball and takes a lot of pride in wearing the old english S. We have experience arms returning in Matt Mareno (Jr.) who was a league starter last year along with seniors Reed Muir and Brandon Wise who have league experience on the mound. We combine that with Juniors, Noah Reeves and Cole Kreuzer who have also pitched at the Varsity level. There are jobs to win in the field as we only return Senior IF, Ian Furlong, Senior OF Reed Muir, and Junior C, Hunter Easton with more than 50 ABs at the Varsity level. We look for Hunter Easton to take the next step as a big time contributor offensively and behind the plate. We feel really good about players stepping up in roles in the field. Underclassmen Players to keep an eye on are Freshman Ryder Concannon, who will have a role right away on the mound, Sophomores Nolan Klein (SS / RHP), Austin Abbate (C / U) , Devin Lilley (IF / RHP ) , and Colt Tousa (IF)."
