2024 PBR MN PRESEASON ALL-STATE: EVENT PREVIEW

Prep Baseball Minnesota

Edina, Minnesota - This weekend Prep Baseball returns to the Edina Dome to host the 9th annual Prep Baseball Minnesota Preseason All-State event. This invite-only event will feature over 375 prospects from the 2025 through 2027 classes, including 105 players that are currently ranked in the state.

The premier spring event gives us an opportunity to take a closer view at a number of Minnesota's top talents, along with introducing us to some under-the-radar and underclass prospects that have made considerable strides recently.

EVENT HISTORY

Last year’s Preseason All-State saw over 325 players come through the doors of the Edina Dome with multiple notable performances. Over 120 of those attendees have made their college commitments, including 26 Division 1 commits.

Additionally, nine players from the class of 2025 helped solidify their roster spots for Team Midwest at last summer’s Future Games in Lakepoint. Those names include Noah Hahn, Jackson Dial, Collin Heckman, Blake Eckerle, Hunter Vadeer and more.

This year’s players will be in contention for Super Sophomore Games (2027s), Future Games (2026s), and Senior Future Games (uncommitted 2025s).

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE WEEKEND

There are several prospects that will be in attendance that have an opportunity to make a significant impact. Here are just a few of the names that should standout:

+ Jaxon Hams  [2025, RHP/3B, Thief River Falls]

Hams burst onto the scene at last summer’s Summer ID-Fargo where the right-hander sat 86-87, topping out at 87.9 with over 2,300 RPMs of spin. He’s got a projectable frame with a lightning quick arm. The Thief River Falls native is currently ranked 11th in the state.

+ Hudson Ohm [2026, RHP, Zumbrota-Mazeppa]

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Ohm made some impressive progress from his 2022 appearance at the Fall ID to the 2023 event. Ohm went from 81.1 to 87.7 in that time. He’s got a long whippy arm and currently ranked 7th in the state.

+ Alejandro Chavez [2027, SS/RHP, Osseo]

Chavez is ranked third in the state but 246th nationally, making an impression on evaluators with his appearance on Team Minnesota at last year’s Junior Future Games. He’s got a lanky frame and the arm works well, dishing out low-to-mid 80s fastball. At the plate, his swing works with a contact-oriented approach that could develop into some power as he continues to grow.
