Player Spotlight: OF Aaron Meers (Lee's Summit North, 2016)

Aaron Meers (Lee's Summit North, 2016) is an uncommitted 6-foot-2 195-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and recently participated in the 2015 Top Prospect Games on Aug. 9.

Meers runs a 6.93 60 and an 4.41 home-to-first. At the plate has a tall set-up, with a reverse toe tap then stride. He has slight coil in load, and fast hands.  He has a level path out front, and takes an aggressive swing. His exit velo is 88 mph. Meers attacked the ball in the outfield, with clean exchanges, and a quick over-the-top arm action.  He plays through the ball with an 87 mph throwing velocity, making accurate throws. Meers is strong, and has an athletic frame with solid tools.

During the spirng, Meers batted .398 for the Broncos.  He had 11 doubles and drove in 12 runs, leading Lee's Summit North to a 15-14 record.  Currently, Meers is going on visits, preparing for his fall season and ready to lead a talented Bronco team next spring.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Meers: I am looking for a school that has good academics and good baseball.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for Lee’s Summit North in 2016.

Meers: My Junior season went well I led the team with a .398 batting average, and was selected First Team All-Conference. Unfortunately we lost in the first game of districts. Some players that will play a key role this upcoming season are Maison Stites, Andrew Kleibocker, and Chase Swisher.

PBR: What are you goals for your jsenior season?

Meers: My goals for senior season are to make a run at state, and also be named to an All-State Team

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Meers: This fall I am playing for the Midwest Blacksox

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Meers: No other sports

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Meers: I have a 26 ACT, and a 3.8 GPA
