Super 60 Recap: 3B Drew Bridges (Carthage HS)

By Ethan Silverman
Missouri Scouting Director

From the first time we saw Drew Bridges as a sophomore, he impressed us with his bat speed and power to all fields. At the inaugural Midwest Future Games, Bridges continued to show his bat speed with one of the most impressive rounds of batting practice, drawing college coaches to the field to watch him hit. This past weekend at the Super 60, the MLB scouts got their chance to see Bridges at work.

The left handed hitting 6-foot-4, 220-pound Bridges showed the ability to barrel up the baseball, with drives to the power alleys. His bat speed was discussed among PBR and MLB scouts, a tool that has the potential to get him drafted in June.

In the field, Bridges showed well at third base, with confident hands and a quick transfer with accurate throws. With his ability and size, Bridges has the ability to play either corner position.

“I think I will be on more peoples radars after this event, said Bridges on his performance at the Super 60. “I wanted to prove myself to the scouts that have already seen me, and to the new scouts.”
