Two 2022 State Champions with high hopes for the 2023 season squared off at Charlotte Christian School on Friday night as Wayne Country Day visited the Christian Knights. The night started with a tribute to long time Charlotte Christian Baseball Coach Greg Simmons who passed away just a couple of weeks ago. To the players' credit, on both sides, they were able to be part of the emotional tribute and then focus on the task at hand, playing a tremendous early season high school game.
Charlotte Chrisitian's Wesley Jones was simply dominant on the bump, working 6 innings in the win. Fellow senior Tanner McCammon blasted a 1st inning 2 run homer that would supply all the runs Jones needed.

Simple turn and kick to the mid-chest. Works level, landing slightly across his line with a square foot-strike. Some length in the arm action, building pace through his high-3/4 slot. Above average arm speed. Strong arm. Fastball sat
