Voyager Gets Dominate Outing from Higdon

NCHSAA 1A 4th Round | 05.19.23 in Durham, NC

East Wake Academy made the trip to Historic Durham Athletic Park to take on Voyager Academy for the right to play in the 1A East Region Finals. Daniel Higdon and the Vikings made it known they were up to the challenge. 

Higdon pitched a 1 hit complete game shutout to lead Voyager to the win and a trip to the regional finals series. Voyager took advantage of a couple East Wake Academy miscues to plate 3 runs to take a 3-0 victory over the visiting Eagles. 

Jordan Driver pitched 5 innings striking out 10 in the loss. East Wake Academy finishes the season with a 17-5 record. The Vikings will play in the NCHSAA 1A East Region Finals Series, beginning on Tuesday May 23rd.
