Wake Forest Stays Hot, Cruises to 15-0 Win

Wakefield- 0  Wake Forest- 15

The Wakefield Wolverines made the trip to take on the Wake Forest Cougars in the semi-finals of the Northern Athletic Conference tourney on Wednesday night, and not even the chilly evening breeze could cool off the smoking hot Wake Forest bats. Wake Forest struck quick and often posting 11 hits and 15 runs in the 5-inning game. Jimmy Lovelace was lights out on the hill only allowing 3 hits and 2 walks and 0 runs in 4 innings of work, striking out 6 Wolverines. Wake Forest will host Millbrook Friday night to battle to crown the Champion of the Northern Athletic Conference Tournament @ 7pm. Wakefield will patiently wait for seedings for NCHSAA tournament to be announced Monday.
