Prep Baseball Report

North Carolina Updated Power 25

Brandon Hall
NC / Mid-Atlantic Scouting Director

We are two weeks into the 2024 spring season and while it is very early we are already seeing some teams emerge as potential contenders for conference titles and putting themselves as teams to watch for deep runs in May.  Every two weeks the staff of Prep Baseball North Carolina will get together and review the Power 25.  The Power 25 is setup to name the top 25 baseball teams in the state, regardless of classification or affiliation.  With over 400 schools playing baseball in North Carolina, these are the best 25 teams in the state.

The updated version of the Power 25 continues to see some familiar names at the top of the list.  Wesleyan Christian, and their loaded roster continue to  sit at No. 1. The top 5 did see some shuffling with Metrolina Christian off to a hot start, moving up to No. 3.  Despite a loss to No. 5 Charlotte Christian, Grace Christian remains at No. 2.

Four of the top 5 and five of the top 10 teams are in the NCISAA.  The final 15 schools in the Power 25 all come from the NCHSAA classification.  The next couple of weeks see several key Powre 25 matchups.  High School Baseball fans can track all the action, day to day, following the Inisde the Box blog, updated with scores and notes from key games, as well as looking for game coverage and scout blogs from Prep Baseball's scouting staff in North Carolina.
