North Raleigh Outlasts East Wake Academy

East Wake Academy visited North Raleigh Christian Academy on Thursday evening, and after a hard-fought battle North Raleigh Christian was able to secure a 2-0 win behind the arm of senior Cameron Brown. 

Brown was masterful on the mound throwing a complete game 1 hit shutout punching out 12 to take the win. East Wake Academy junior Jordan Driver battled valiantly to keep East Wake close striking out 6 over 5 innings of work allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The lone East Wake hit came on a hard-liner to the left center gap by Sophomore 1st baseman Jackson Brown.  

East Wake Academy falls to 1-4 and will visit Knightdale next Tuesday. North Raleigh moves to 2-7 and will travel to Goldsboro to take on #4 Wayne Country Day Monday.

Strong frame. Listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. Compact windup with kick to the upper chest. Fluid. Stays over the rubber.  Strong lower half works to create a solid, direct line. High-¾ slot. Fastball has run at 85-87. Gentle, rolling shape to the breaking ball at 70-71. Flashed a solid change-up that kept hitters off the fastball, sitting 76-77. Projectable frame that has room to his ceiling.

Listed at 5-foot-6, 140 pounds. Very agile with quick feet. Moves well in any direction. Confident handed. Good hands and feet around the bag. Quick exchange and release.  Athletic arm. Right handed. Open stance with a tap to load. Direct and flat. Willing to use all fields. Ran 4.42 home to 1st. Fundamentally sound and positioned to make jumps in the coming year with growth and strength additions.
