Scouting Report

Of all the uncommitted players in Canada, we referenced multiple guys JUCOs should be all over. Shane Cowan out of Nova Scotia deserves some attention, because it’s a left-handed bat that might play at the next level. Cowan is a JUCO guy who is 5-11, 180, and to say he has room to grow is fair. Cowan’s bat plane is good, he generates some power, he hits in game, and he isn’t done maturing yet. Physically he’s got a stocky build, doesn’t possess a ton of twitch, but that’s not really his game. Defensively the hands work, and he profiles more as a third baseman, second baseman or first if he hits well enough. The arm also works well across the diamond.
