The PBR Scout Days have become our way of kicking the year off with an event where players throughout Nevada are provided an opportunity to update their PBR Player Profiles with the base level information retrieved at the event. From the PBR Scout Day, we are able to track players progess, highlight standout performances and begin the process of selecting the very best to represent Nevada at the 2022 Junior Future Games (2026/2027), the 2022 Future Games (2024/2025) or the 2022 West Coast Games (2023). Both high school programs and club organizations have an opportunity to provide their players with an exclusive Scout Day for players within their program. 

This year, we will be adding the use of our TrackMan System to provide each player with the most accurate and relevant information from both hitting and pitching standpoint. Along with the TrackMan, we have rebranded our Open Scout Days in both Northern and Southern Nevada as the Northern Nevada Preseason ID and the Southern Nevada Preseason ID. These new event will provide the same opportunity as the exclusive Scout Days hosted by the high schools and club programs, as they will play a vital role in the selection of Team Nevada for the Summer of 2022. 

PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT

Coming off of an excellent 2021 season that saw them win the Northern Region title, the Huskies are set for another deep run in 2022 with depth in talent throughout their roster headlined by Nevada’s Super 60 representative and reigning Northern Nevada Player of the Year, Grayson Grinsell. The Reno 2022 Class also includes a pair of JUCO signees with catcher, Kaden Shuck, set to attend the College of Southern Idaho and corner infielder, MIkey Cruz, joining the Coyotes at the College of Southern Nevada next year. A player that still remains uncommitted, but could be off the board in the near future is #TeamNevada representative at the inaugural West Coast Games and top of the order shortstop, Mason Rowe.

With the senior leadership in place, they have an interesting crop of young players like sophomore middle infielder, Harvey Smerdon, who could make an early impact this year. Reno has built itself into a program that has a central focus on player development with a hard nosed style of play that routinely capitalizes on opponent mistakes. Nevada legendary head coach, Coach Savage, expects the players attention to detail to mirror his and that forces the opposition to play an almost perfect game to beat them. 

You can bet that the Huskies have their sights set on making another deep run this year and we fully expect that to be the case with the talented roster of both committed and uncommitted prospects.
