Game Notes: Cimarron-Memorial at Legacy

Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

The Longhorns took no time at all to get on the board, opening up the scoring in the bottom of the first with a standup triple from Salt Lake Community College commit, Colton Stanton, who was later brought in by an RBI double from freshman, Alex Scaggs. Legacy added 4 more in the 3rd inning to take a commanding 5-0 lead with the help of a leadoff single from Uncommitted 2025, William Glover. After adding 3 more runs over the following two innings, the Horns secured their win behind an shutout, 11 strikeout over 5.0 inning performance from senior, Jose Becerra.

+ Colton Stanton, 2024 OF - The future Bruin had himself a day with four barrels that cultiminated in a triple in his first at-bat, a double in his second at-bat, and an inside-the-park homerun in his third at-bat, followed by a loud barrel that got hung up in the wind in his final at-bat. The obvious added phsyical strength has translated well to the offensive side of his game as his power potential has transitioned into present power, adding to his advanced approach. Keep an eye on Stanton as an early Prep Baseball Nevada Player of the Week Candidate after his standout performance yesterday.

+ William Glover, 2025 OF - Glover has continued to ascend as a bat to know in Nevada's 2025 Class as a catalyst at the top of the Legacy lineup. His present feel for the barrel at the plate paired with his Prep Baseball Verified 6.76 speed makes him an ideal top of the order bat or a potential 9 hitter that can turn the lineup over as a "second leadoff hitter" at the next level. His ability to go get it in the outfield, paired with Stanton in centerfield, makes the Longhorns outfield a no fly zone for opposing hitters. This a player to keep on your radar in the junior class that can get it done on both sides of the ball.

+ Alex Scaggs, 2027 IF - The freshman has settled into the three hole for the Longhorns with his advanced feel at the plate paired with his ability to drive the ball to the big part of the yard. His RBI double to left-centerfield opened up the scoring for Legacy and they never looked back. An early impact 2027 that his this kind of feel at the plate makes him a player to know in that Class for years to come.
