SCOUTING REPORT

Daley stands in at 6-foot-0, 168-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.36 – 60. Offensively- Lefty sets up in an open stance with little movement prior to pitch delivery. Shows a good trigger getting set up before the pitch in a powerful pre-swing position. Demonstrates quick hands to the hitting zone with a level barrel path with line drive potential up the middle and to the pull side. Fluid swing and recorded an impressive 84 MPH exit velocity. Defensively- Shows a good approach and footwork to the baseball. Could be more aggressive through the ball into the throw. Good transition from the glove to the throwing hand showing an appropriate outfielder arm swing. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 77 MPH. Pitching- Lefty sets up in the middle of the rubber with a high leg raise into a powerful pre-pitch position. Drives down the mound well engaging the lower body, but could get his upper body into a better position upon the front foot strike. Overall, clean mechanics with a few minor adjustments will help be more consistent and add velocity. Fastball was 75-76 MPH and peaked at 78 MPH showing arm side run. Change up was 69-70 MPH with arm side drop and will need more of a velocity drop off the fastball. Curveball was 67-68 MPH and showed a sharp 12/6 break.

THOUGHTS ON THE FUTURE

"Intriguing young player with easy efforts. Calm approach at the plate with potential to find another gear. Controlled actions in the outfield with an arm that will produce additional carry. Works with ease from the mound with arm side action to his FB complemented with a sharp breaking ball. As he matures his frame will develop and his easy actions will produce next level results. A freshman with a huge upside."
