While our 2024 winter event schedule is in full gear, we want to highlight some of the standout players from last weeks events. These are players, that are uncomitted, who caught the attention of Prep Baseball staff.

Jon Roessel SS / RHP / Fairport High School , NY / 2026Coninues to get stronger. Long loose levers. Smooth actions in the field taking good angles to the ball. Clean transfer and strong throw. Hit the barrel all round with gap-2-gap approach. Also showed pitching potential with FB up to 86mph. Still has a high celling. Ready for a big Sophomore season.

Jack Guiffre RHP / OF / Victor, NY / 2025Solid overall workout. Strong physcial athlete. 2-way talent. Compact swing and power ability. Consistent loud contact. On the mound, got heavy FB up to 84mph. Short take back and quick arm action. Good ASR.

Conor Forkey 3B / RHP / McQuaid Jesuit, NY / 2026Rankings StateRank: 105 / POS: 5
Our 2nd time seeing him this winter. He backed everything up and made gains. Continues to crush the barrel with some lift. Big power potential, EV up to 95mph. Can impact a game in many ways. Also, got on the mound and showed a solid 3-pitch mix.

Jordan De Jesus OF / 1B / Fordham Prep, NY / 2027Already on the radar, plays above his grade. The Freshman is ready for the High School stage. Advanced actions in the field with a strong accurate throw. Smoth LHH swing with easy bat control. EV up to 95mph already. |

Aiden Ruiz SS / OF / THE STONY BROOK SCHOOL, NY / 2026All tools on display. Sub 7 60 time (6.97). Advanced actions in the field and a strong arm across the diamond (83mph). Showed a good gap-2-gap approach with EV of 90mph.

Derek Soroa 3B / RHP / Fordham Prep, NY / 2027Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
The Jr. Future Games alum is a legit 2-way prospect. Really impressed on the mound. A dominant 2-pitch mix. FB up to 85mph with late tail. Advanced feel for CB. The 3B showed juice at the plate (EV: 91mph) and strong arm across the diamond (83mph). Ready for the High School stage.

Anaiscio Ortiz LHP / OF / Richmond Hill, NY / 2026Impressive workout for the Sophomore. The videos went viral after posted. Long loose whip arm action. Ball explodes out of his hand with late life. Very quick arm with FB up to 89mph. Controlled repeatable delivery; we think there is more in the tank. He also hammered the ball with EV of 91mph. Exciting follow.

DJ Filippone RHP / 3B / Connetquot , NY / 2026Another strong 2-way prospect. Showed a starter make-up on the mound. Solid 3-pitch mix with good movement on everything. Projectable frame and fast arm. FB up to 86mph with ASR. Good feel for off-speed, CB had late break and depth. Hard CH with dive action.

Brandon Bartick SS / RHP / Connetquot , NY / 20255-tool SS with a solid workout. One of the fastest 60's of the day (6.86). Fluid actions on every ground ball. Really strong arm across the diamond (85mph). Easy barrel turn at the plate with some pull side juice (EV: 90mph).

Elijah Batista RHP / OF / Cardinal Hayes, NY / 2026Rankings StateRank: 39 / POS: 17
Strong pitching prospect with upside. Compact delivery with a solid lower half drive. Quick arm action, ball zips out of the hand. You can hear his FB throughout the building. Good spin on his pitches with a nasty wipeout SL.

Willy Pineda OF / SS / Lafayette Educational Complex, NY / 2025High Level OF prospect. Can play all three spots. Rocket arm with 91mph OF velocity. Ball explodes off his bat with carry (EV: 98mph).

Eddie Flores SS / OF / JOHN F KENNEDY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, NY / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 2
Strong way to start his HS career. Ready for the big stage with plenty of tools on display. Advanced actions in the field with a laser throw from SS. Will throw you out from deep in the hole (IF velocity: 87mph). Steady hands at the plate with a strong bat turn. Found the barrel all round. EV already up to 89mph. Bright future.

Nathan Pimentel SS / 3B / Mt St. Michaels Academy, NY / 2025Rankings StateRank: 145 / POS: 26
Always impressive with top level metrics. Showed speed (60 time: 6.95) and arm strength (IF velocity: 84mph). Has really imporved bat control with consistent loud contact to the middle of the field. Poised for a big Junior season.

David Hinojosa RHP / 2B / Poly Prep, NY / 2026All the makings of a high level starter at the next level. Solid 3-pitch mix with good spin and command. Spotted the ball well down in the zone and on both sides of the plates. More in the tank.

Cameron Martinez SS / Walton Campus, NY / 2026Burst on to the big stage. A lot of good SS in the building but he had the strongest arm. 91mph across the diamond and can come get it. All the actions and abilty of a next level SS. Can swing it with some juice as well. A lot of loud barrels with EV of 92mph. |
