Nashville Open: Pitcher + Catcher Reports

PBR Tennessee Staff

NASHVILLE, TN - The Nashville Open & Rising Stars ID was held on Tuesday, May 30th at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2028 classes from Volunteer state. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on at the event.

Today we will continue releasing our scouting reports from the event, looking at all pitchers and catchers from the Nashville Open.

pitcher reports

Ashton Blesie, Nolensville (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 158-pounds.
Delivery: Athletic delivery, motion is fluid from leg lift to pitch thrown. Does a good job creating momentum down the mound. Rotates around his lead leg well.
Arm Action: RH. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot, has a quick arm that works well in his slot. Long arm action after hand break, but gets his arm in his plane of rotation early.
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Fb plays down in the zone, his 3/4 arm slot gives his ball some armside run. Fb will work the best when its down and creating weak contact from movement T2280, 2199 average rpm.
SL: 72-74 mph. Slider is thrown for a strike, with good spin. Creates good tunnel with FB moving the opposite direction, plays off FB well and will create weak contact or be watched when it's in the zone T2451, 2430 average rpm.
CH: 78-79 mph. Does a good job of killing spin on his CH, has some armside run, will give LHH a different look, will play best after his FB because of the similar movement profiles T1647, 1566 average rpm.

Lane Brown, Dickson County (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 6-0, 189-pounds. Strong upper frame.
Delivery: 15 yr old LHP- Smooth delivery with a leg lift to tuck to time his delivery up. confident with his Changeup with advanced feel and finishes over it well with good running/sinking action, Keeps arms speed in synch with his fastball. Curveball has late break with good spin when he trust it, but can lack present feel and get around it. Fastball has present run with carry up in the zone with really solid spin efficiency on his fastball and changeup. High 90's with some pure 100% spin efficiency. Solid command and has a chance to blossom on the mound into a high caliber arm
Arm Action: LH. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot, arm stays hidden until release giving him some deception. Shorter arm action.
FB: T79, 76-78 mph. FB will play best working side to side, has good sink/ arm side run. Keeping the ball moving away from a RHH will give him lots of early weak contact. FB has carry up in the zone, making it a potential swing and miss pitch T1714, 1593 average rpm.
CB: 65-67 mph. CB will play best when he's landing it for a strike, he spins it well and has late break to it. This could be an out pitch to a LHH, Could play down in the zone for swing and miss to both hitters T1905, 1826 average rpm.
CH: 69-72 mph. Had good feel for this pitch, CH will play the best when it's thrown off of the FB, pitch profiles the same as FB but kills spin and more horizontal movement. Will tunnel well with FB T1745, 1581 average rpm.
ATH: 7.77 runner in the 60. 1.79 and 4.23 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Thomas Burke, Nolensville (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-11, 153-pounds.
Delivery: Pitches logged on Zach Madar
Arm Action: RH
FB: T73, 72-73 mph. Works best down in the zone, for SL to play off it, can be effectively wild up in the zone with high induced vertical on his FB; Could get swing in miss at the top of the zone T1692, 1606 average rpm.
SL: 62-64 mph. Down in the zone, swing and miss pitch to RHH; Ability to be an outpitch T1620, 1560 average rpm.
ATH: 7.42 runner in the 60. 1.79 and 4.09 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Cooper Lamberth, Davidson Academy (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds.
Delivery: Doesn't finish over his front foot and can block himself off before fully rotating at release point. Tendency to miss arm side and tends to use more arm than body on his follow through. Initially uses his lower half and loses it before fully syncing up the chain. Disconnects his transfer of energy and has more velo in the tank. Lacks feel currently with breaking ball
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, throws from a standard high 3/4 arms lot. Has inconsistent release point
FB: T74, 72-73 mph. FB has some ride to it, will play best when its in the zone to produce swing and miss. Does a good creating backspin on his ball T2004, 1929 average rpm.
CB: 60-63 mph. CB will play best if it breaks into the zone for a strike, gets good horizontal movement. HM will create lots of called strikes when the pitch starts at a RHH, has the ability to get swing and miss if he starts it down in the zone and it breaks into the dirt T2071, 1911 average rpm.
CH: 65-67 mph. CH will play best when he keeps it armside and lets the speed difference create weak contact. It has similar movement profile to his FB, so he can fool hitters onto their front foot and miss barrels with it T1463, 1359 average rpm.
ATH: 8.06 runner in the 60. 1.86 and 4.39 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Alex Langston, Rockvale (TN), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-2, 181-pounds.
Delivery: Smooth present action with his lower half, but can be a little stiff on his hand break and push off and still lacks athletic feel for his delivery. When presented with that, was more athletic and transitioned through his delivery with better timing and action on his pitches.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm is on time when he gets to foot strike. Quick arm through his motion after foot strike.
FB: T78, 76-78 mph. Fb will get the best results when its down in the zone. His higher slot will create a steep path to the ball making it hard for hitters to get on plane. T1833, 1710 average rpm.
CB: 66-67 mph. Curveball showed good shape when thrown for a strike, has the tendency to have it back up on him. CB will get the best results when its movement takes it away to a RHH. Could get swing and miss on it when it starts in the zone and dives out of it. T1634, 1518 average rpm.
CH: 68-69 mph. Does a good job of reducing spin of his CH, needs to be thrown low in the zone to play off his FB. He will have the best results with the CH when the action on it is the same as FB adn the speed difference gets hitters on their front foot. T1329, 1294 average rpm.
ATH: 7.43 runner in the 60. 1.71 and 4.04 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Zach Madar, Davidson Academy (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-10, 137-pounds.
Delivery: Smooth delivery to leg lift, his hand break and stride are not smooth which could create some deception. Get stuck behind his lead leg, leaving out some velocity because he can not fully rotate down through his lead leg.
Arm Action: RH. His arm action is over the top from a high slot. He creates the slot by rotating his torso vertically. Has trouble finishing his rotation. Arm is long and can get stabby down towards the ground.
FB: T74, 73-74 mph. FB plays best up in the zone, his over the top delivery and high induced vertical will make his FB get swing and miss at the top of the zone T1860, 1836 average rpm.
CB: 67-69 mph. CB plays off the FB well, his ability to tunnel the pitches will work best if the CB is thrown for a strike at the bottom of the zone T2180, 2047 average rpm.
CH: 69-70 mph. Has the ability to kill spin on his CH, makes it a good pitch for LHH, as similar movement profile to his FB which makes it best if it plays off his FB T1563, 1475 average rpm.
ATH: 7.48 runner in the 60. 1.73 and 4.04 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Aiden Pennington, Franklin (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 166-pounds.
Delivery: present command and feel for his body on the mound with his fastball. Short arm action and gets solid layback with shoulder/hip separation. Finishes over his front side well with extension. Can get wrappy with his breaking ball and not spin it efficiently consistently.
Arm Action: RH. Throws from a over the top arm slot. Shorter arm action after hand break, will slow down his arm on offspeed pitches
FB: T80, 77-79 mph. FB will play well up in the zone well for swing and miss, he backspins the ball well with high induced vertical break on it. His offspeed pitches compliment his FB well and will create more swings at the top of the zone. T2180, 2064 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. Curveball will play best if it's thrown for a strike at the bottom of the zone, it has more side to side action than up and down. Should steal lots of strikes when started inside to a RHH and breaks into the strike zone. Has late break T2293, 2254 average rpm.
CH: 71-72 mph. CH will give the another look to LHH hitters. Needs to be thrown for a strike to get weak contact. CH has little fade and needs to stay at the bottom of the zone. T1913, 1796 average rpm.
ATH: 7.26 runner in the 60. 1.72 and 4.02 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Ethan Roller, Daniel Boone (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-10, 182-pounds. Great build, strong lower half.
Delivery: Quick delivery with hand break at hips. left foot offset. works around his body well but can fall off and doesn't have a consistent release point. Does not finish through his throw and can get around his pitches, especially his fastballs as he will hit away to a right handed hitter and miss off the plate. Not a great feel for breaking ball as of yet and more rifle spin
Arm Action: RH. Arm moves quickly from a over the top slot. Short arm action after hand break, has inconsistent release points. Arm moves fast down through his delivery
FB: T80, 79-80 mph. His FB plays best down in the zone with his steep angle he creates from his high slot. When he throws strikes he will be hard to hit due to his unique delivery and his FB movement profile. T2097, 1993 average rpm.
CB: 66-67 mph. CB will get the best results when he starts it in the middle of the zone and lets it break out of the zone for a swing and miss or stays at the bottom of the zone for a strike. Getting his ball to be consistently a strike and the same shape will allow him to get great results T1836, 1799 average rpm.
KN: 64-67 mph.ATH: 8.02 runner in the 60. 2.11 and 4.50 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Case Stone, McNairy Central (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/C
Body: 5-8, 164-pounds.
Delivery: Smooth leg lift, hand breaks in sync with his stride to the plate. Stays tall through his delivery leaving some velocity in the tank.
Arm Action: RH
FB: T77, 75-77 mph. Fb plays up in the zone, high spin and high induced vert makes for the ability to get major swing and miss on this pitch T2360, 2231 average rpm.
CB: 66-67 mph. Spins the CB well, and for a strike. CB plays the best when it lands for a strike, tunnels well with his high FBs. T2506, 2447 average rpm.
SL: 66-68 mph. SL has the ability to be a major swing and miss pitch, has unique movement profile from other breaking balls, works best if it's a put away pitch that moves out of the zone to a RHH T2621, 2484 average rpm.
ATH: 7.35 runner in the 60. 1.72 and 4.04 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
