The 2022 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the Spring Fling state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our preseason Top 10 in each TSSAA classification and the preseason Power 25 Rankings. 

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Our team will be providing boots on the ground coverage, scouting games and highlighting the Volunteer State's talent. This season we will be releasing players of the week, updating our classification rankings, and the Power 25. Team Outlook
The Tigers have not been a “prestigious” program over the past few years, often towards the bottom of the district standings. However, things are looking up heading into 2022. The Tigers move over to district four in D2-A, which is not an easy task, but they have continued to build a solid foundation on the roster and are optimistic this season. The headliners are RHP/MINF Owen Block (2023) and RHP/1B Townsend Stevenson (2023). Both will lead the pitching staff and show great upside with a mid to upper 80s fastball while Block led the team in offensive production last Spring. They also return a few pieces that missed/limited due to injury last Spring with P/OF Geofrey Friedman (2023) and P/OF Collin France (2023). Soph. RHP/OF Mahoney Daunic is a versatile two-way piece, who can be a key arm and contribute offensively to go with a lanky projectable frame. OF Harrison Fitzgibbons (2023) can be a table setter in the lineup and P/DH Aidan Savona (2023) can provide some thump plus some innings on the mound. Sophomore INF Grant Reilly and C Dylan Washko will provide some depth in the order in some key positions. The x-factor will be freshman SS/RHP Alexander Peck, who showed tremendous upside at the 2021 Jr Future Games and will be an early watch for college recruiters this Spring. 

The new district will be a steep challenge for this Tigers core due to its depth and high quality arms around the league. MTCS, Grace Christian, and Columbia Academy pushed deep into the postseason last season, and the middle of the pack will be competitive every single night. USN will look to turn a corner and make some noise in 2022.
