Game of the Day: Bridgeport at East Fairmont

Brine TakahashiJunior right-handed pitcher Brine Takahashi (right) was nearly perfect on Thursday night carrying a no-hitter into the 6th inning. Takahashi allowed a two-out walk in the 5th and East Fairmont second baseman E.J. Trickett put an end to the no-hitter with a two-out double in the 6th. Takahashi polished off the one-hitter by retiring the Bees in order in the 7th for the complete game shutout. 

Senior right-hander Jacob Bolander, a Columbia State commit, was the hard-luck loser scattering six hits on the evening while striking out five. All five runs allowed were unearned.

J.T. Harris went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Drew Hefner went 3-for-3 with two doubles to fuel the Indians offense. Bridgeport, No. 1 in the current Metro News Power Rankings, improved to 4-1 on the season.
