Gwatney Chevrolet fell to Russellville American Legion 6-1 Tuesday night. Russellville used two big innings and the big right arm of 2015 RHP Mark Moyer to pull out the conference victory.

Gwatney scored on in the 1^st when 2015 OF Courtland McDonald hit a leadoff single, stole second, stole third and scored on a passed ball. 2016 LHP Brandon Hawkins, shut out Russellville for the first 3 innings, locating his fastball 79-81 mph with arm side run on both sides of the plate, mixing in the occasional breaking ball 65-68 mph to keep Russellville off balance.

In the top of the 4^th Russellville scored 3 runs on 4 hits highlighted by a Frost RBI double. The three runs is all Moyer would need. Moyer dominated the game striking our 10 plus hitters. He pounded the strike zone with his fastball 87-90 mph with late life through the zone. He put hitters away with a sharp slider 77-80 mph.

This is a conference games and these two teams will square off again on Thursday night at Arkansas Tech University.
