The 2024 California high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across California.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective CIF Section Championship Game, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across California. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action and the Third Annual Prep Baseball California Spring Invitational.

TEAM OUTLOOK

After an up-and-down season in 2023, the Stallions seemed primed to compete for a Sea View League championship and possibly even more. The pitching staff for San Juan Hills will be relied on all season and it is headlined by a number of division 1 commits in ‘24 Austin Plisinski, ‘24 Dane Grant, ‘24 Jack Morrissey, and ‘25 Drew Nelson. Also expect to see both ‘24 Ryder Stowasser and underclassmen ‘26 Gavin Giese on the mound as well.

Offensively, UC Irvine commit ‘24 Zach Doyle will be a staple in the lineup and in outfield for the Stallions. Classmate of Doyle, ‘24 Sorrell Rubin is an uncommitted senior to know on this roster as well. San Juan Hills also possesses a tight-knit core of juniors to lean on in the lineup, ‘25 Ethan Meeker, ‘25 David Reeves, ‘25 Jake Vuoso, ‘25 Colbie Corpuz, and ‘25 Tanner Kessler are all expected to make some big contributions for the Stallions as they head into their junior seasons.
