The 2024 California high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across California.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective CIF Section Championship Game, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across California. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action and the Third Annual Prep Baseball California Spring Invitational.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Tigers are off to a quality start in 2024 as they have collected a 3-2 record. Leading the way offensively, has been ‘24 Fernando Jauregi who is currently hitting to a tune of .647 in 17 at-bats. ‘26 Moises Davidson has also been enjoying a quality start to the season, as he has collected a hit in half of his 10 at-bats and has also scored five runs, too. Leading the way for the run production is ‘24 Chris Marquez who has totaled six RBIs, while also batting .357 which has included four doubles.

On the pitching side, there have been a handful of arms who have seen some time on the mound thus far. The aforementioned Marquez currently holds a 1.24 ERA in his two appearances this season. The previously mentioned Davidson has also seen some time on the bump and he has pitched to a 2.80 ERA across his two appearances, too. ‘24 Obed Gonzalez has been lights out in a bullpen and closer role this season, as he has yet to allow an earned run in a pair of appearances.
