Game Notes (CA): Battle of Vacaville

VACAVILLE, CA - Crosstown rivals Vacaville and Wood played a tense game one of their three game series earlier in the week, with the VHS coming out on top. That win clinched at least a share of their league title with Rodriguez HS. On Wednesday they again defeated Wood and that win clinched the Monticello Empire League title for the Bulldogs (23-2, 13-1). Crosstown rivalries that coincide as conference games are always fun to watch, no matter the strength of each club.

Vacaville has D1 talent all over the roster... 2019 OF/RHP Devereaux Harrison (Long Beach State), 2020 CF Kenny DeCelle (Santa Clara), 2020 RF Jared Breedwell (Oregon State), 2020 INF Brian McClellin (Cal), 2019 SS Hunter Dorraugh (Sacramento State), and 2020 1B Michael Brown undecided at this particular time... 

As mentioned, Michael Brown is uncommitted at this time, but the hulking junior 1st baseman isn't lacking opportunities. He's all of 6-foot-4, 240-pounds and his L/L profile, with a powerful bat (see video below) and deft glove skills, which will all have him on the radar with MLB scouts next spring... or as soon as June 9 at our Northern CA ProCase.
