Los Angeles, Calif. - Each week during the high school season we will announce the NorCal Pitcher and Player of the Week covering the action from the previous week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on recommendations from high school coaches from Northern California.
Continuing from previous seasons, we will also be highlighting others players from across the state in our Prep Baseball California Diamond Notes that will be released weekly. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Pitcher of Player of the Week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Josh Rodriguez RHP / Livermore, CA / 2024Senior Josh Rodriguez of Livermore High School is the NorCal Pitcher of the Week. In two appearances last week that included one start and relief appearance, Rodriguez was dominant against Irvington and Mission. Over seven total innings Rodriguez struck out 16 batters against only two hits while allowing only one run. For the season Rodrguez is 2-0 with one save. He has struck out 19 batters allowing only four hits in 9.2 innings on the season. |
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Everet Johnson 3B / Justin-Siena, CA / 2024Senior Everett Johnson of Justin-Siena High School is the NorCal Player of the Week. Johnson, a UC Davis commit, hit career home runs number 7 and 8 in an impressive win over longtime small school power Redwood Christian. One of the home runs was a scoreboard clearing Grand Slam. Johnson collected five RBI on the day with his two blasts. Johnson, who was a standout at the NorCal Preseason All-State, has clearly carried over that momentum into the early going of his senior high school season. |
