Game Preview: With each roster loaded with big time NCAA D1 commits on the mound and across their lineups it's going to be a battle of highly talented players. Corona features multiple electric arms  in Schiefelbein, Hernandez, Burgess and Carlson to throw at the Lancers in the starting role which will make hits difficult to come by for the Lancers lineup which can run out an entire starting 9 of D1 commits including the athletic LH hitting trio of Curiel, Fraser and Reiland to create chaos atop the lineup with the impact offensive abilities in the middle of the lineup from Hartshorn, Savoie, Stewart and Murrietta to drive them in. The Lancers are well stocked on the mound as evidenced by their collection of Chavez, Hudson, Peterson and rising '26 arm Gary Morse who will be tested to shut down the athletic high octane batting order of the Panthers with Carlson, Springer, Murphy, Hernandez and Burgess each able to do damage at any moment. The Panthers will be slightly short-handed as the Ebel brothers are still unable to play in this matchup due to the sit out period as transfers to Corona. Both teams enter the game undefeated with Corona having picked up 3 wins within the Prep Baseball California Spring Invitational and the Lancers standing at 7-0 winning each of their games within the tournament and picking up impressive wins over Notre Dame Sherman Oaks, Cypress and Huntington Beach in non-league games (all who were Prep Baseball California Invitational invitees, as well). Someone will likely take their first loss of the 2024 season (leaving room for any weird scenarios that leave the game left in a tie), but there are many who believe this could be foreshadowing of a potential CIF-SS Division 1 title game in June. Needless to say there will be plenty of electricity in the air when these two teams take the field on Wednesday night under the lights of the Great Park Stadium in Irvine, California.
