The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '24 LHP Jack Fishel out of El Dorado High School. With a wiry athletic frame at 6'1 and 186 lbs. with some strength, but room to continue to develop more Fishel shows present ability with interesting projection left for him. Featuring a 4-pitch mix fronted by a solid FB and an impressive SLD while adding in feel for a CB/CHG combo in addition. The arm action is deceptive with some depth in the backswing, but then with quick arm speed he gets to a low 3/4 slot which can be tough for hitters to pick up. The operation features some effort to it with a tendency to spin toward the 3B side in his follow through, but overall he flashes a starter profile. Presently the FB works at 83-86 MPH while touching 87 with more in the tank and features some arm side run to it. His best swing/miss offering is a present fringe above average SLD which comes at 73.6 MPH and spin rates up to 2649 RPMs while adding 18.9" of horizontal break to it. There is present feel for both the FB/SLD at the front of his arsenal while adding in a CHG that comes in the mid 70's showing similar movement patterns to his FB and finally a CB in the low 70's with some depth to the break. His control is solid average with fringe above average potential and the feel for 4-pitches should give him a chance to start at next level, but if he shifts to the bullpen he can tick up the life on his FB/SLD combo as a leverage reliever profile. Fishel should be a strong name for 4-year coaches and JUCO coaches to be on this spring as a high quality uncommitted LH arm.
