The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 OF Dylan Perry from Classical Academy High School.  Perry is a strong framed 6'1 185 lbs corner profile athlete who shows solid athletic ability with a 7.2 60 time with good burst at 1.64 in the 10 yard burst time, 3.94 seconds covering 30 yards with a max run speed at 19.1 MPH. He moves well in the OF with solid footwork/angles into the baseball and a clean transfer into the throw, but his present arm strength limits him more to LF with his athleticism in addition being potentially stretched in CF. Although there is still time for him to improve those elements of his game which could give him a future potential to play CF or RF. Where Perry's profile is carried is once the RH hitter steps into the batters box. He grades out will with his swing metrics including good bat speed at 74.8 MPH and hand speed at 25.8 MPH with the ability to use his lower 1/2 to create torque with 17.9 G's of rotational acceleration. There is balance in his swing with a quiet load including showing a feel for his rhythm to be on time to the launch position while keeping his hands back into a bat path which works uphill for lift through the middle to pull side of the field. He shows intriguing raw power during workouts including a max exit velocity up to 97.3 MPH with a sweet spot contact rate at 75%. His feel to hit combined with impact show in game where Prep Baseball California staff has seen him generate hard contact consistently. Perry presents an intriguing offensive profile with potential impact for a lineup while allowing for some defensive versatility that should have college programs keeping tabs on him for the '25 recruiting class.
