The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 SS/3B/OF Linkin Garcia from the national power Huntington Beach High School program. Garcia is a recent re-addition to the '25 uncommitted board after he elected to reopen his recruiting process and decommit from Vanderbilt. Standing 6'3 205 lbs with present strength to his frame and good athleticism there is plenty to like about the present build to Garcia, but there is still room for him to polish and improve his frame which creates intriguing upside for what he can become physically/athletically. Garcia is a fluid defender who flashes impressive actions moving laterally/downhill and plays with comfort both 1 handed and 2 handed with plenty of arm strength to handle either SS or 3B. His actions from workout translate well into game play where at the SoCal PSAS Upperclass event he made several spectacular plays while playing solid consistent defense. Garcia also show interesting potential as a corner OF (RF potential) should he outgrow the INF and need a move his athleticism/arm strength could be an impact RF defender. Far from a defense only prospect Garcia shows impressive swing metrics to go with batted ball data that each project the potential to be a middle to top of the order offensive profile. With bat speed up to 78.7 MPH, torque in his lower half with 24.5 G's of rotational acceleration and fast hands at 24.9 MPH all combined with his physicality and lift in the bat path allow Garcia to show above average raw power at 100.8 MPH max exit velocity while averaging 94.8 MPH exit velocities. As Garcia continues to refine/develop/polish his offensive approach he is showing the feel to get to his raw power on a more consistent basis in games as the CIF High School spring season has begun which is tantalizing the possibilities of what this '25 versatile impact potential defender can become as an offensive force. Needless to say there should be plenty of college programs who are enticed by the opportunity to add Garcia to their '25 class now that he is back on the board.
