PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
ALBERT: I chose Upper Iowa University because it was the best fit for me academically and athletically. Coach Ische’s energy and enthusiasm was a big deciding factor.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
ALBERT: Wartburg, Cornell and Quincy.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
ALBERT: Upper Iowa first saw me pitching this summer with my high school. Coach Ische and I have been communicating regularly ever since.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
ALBERT: I feel very relieved to have my decision made and to be able to focus on improving, lifting and gaining weight.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
ALBERT: There were many deciding factors including: Coach Ische’s enthusiasm and vision for the program, Upper Iowa’s outstanding business program and the team chemistry.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
ALBERT: First off I want to thank my parents for the countless weekends traveling and support they gave me. My pitching coaches: Mike Russ, Cal Eldred and Steve James who have all taught me different aspects of baseball. Lastly, my high school coaches and teammates or their support and encouragement.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
ALBERT: I wasn’t sure what to expect. With the help of my pitching coach getting my name out to coaches and attending showcases it made the process easier. I took time to reach out to programs and coaches I was interested in.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
ALBERT: Coach Ische intends to develop my skills with a strength, conditioning and throwing program. He plans to give me opportunities to play my freshman year.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
ALBERT: My most memorable moment was when our high school team beat Dowling, the #1 team in 4A.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
ALBERT: The best player I pitched against was most certainly Jarred Kelenic.
