The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

PBR: Why did you choose Kirkwood CC?
PAULUS: Kirkwood has a good tradition of winning and has built a great team the last few years. Coach Rima is a great guy and coach and knows why he’s talking about. I also love the campus and loved everyone I met while I was there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
PAULUS: My other two top choices were NIACC and Concordia University Nebraska.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
PAULUS: Coach Rima knew who I was through some old teammates of mine who played for him, but he had seen me at the state tournament the last couple of years and at some PBR showcases.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
PAULUS: The process is very stressful and I’m glad it’s over. I’m glad that it’s just baseball and going out to play now, but I wouldn’t change anything that I went through because I met some really cool people throughout the whole process.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
PAULUS: The way they approach the game and the coaching style. Also the winning tradition had a lot to do with it.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
PAULUS: My dad and my family have helped me the most throughout my whole life. I also give a lot of credit to the coaches at Newman Catholic.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
PAULUS: I didn’t really know what to expect for I don’t know a ton of people who have gone through it. I got some advice from some coaches and some people who knew more than I did. It was a difficult process, but I feel I made the best decision.
