PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
LAVEINE: I choose DMACC because of many things which were the wonderful coaching staff, high academic standards, team goals, and the winning culture.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
LAVEINE: I was also considering South Dakota State, Indiana State, Williston State, North Dakota, Southeastern CC, Indian Hills CC, NIACC, and Cornell.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
LAVEINE: I was first seen at a PBR Showcase. I later made contact with the coaching staff and after that the relationship only got stronger.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
LAVEINE: Yes, I was very happy to get the big relief off my shoulders and focus on the baseball part from here on out. It was also a good learning experience to give to other teammates.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
LAVEINE: By far the great coaching staff and how many players they send to the Division I level.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
LAVEINE: My coach Pat McKasson who is also my grandpa has been there since when I first started playing and has always pushed me to be the best player possible. Chris Chiprez has also helped me get where I am today tremendously. I will also thank my family, and friends to help me. Other coaches I would like to thank are Ethan Seibers, Tim Gall, Rick Whitaker, Dustin Fenton, Micah Oleson, Roger Pross, and Chad Volgelsang who has coached me through my playing years.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
LAVEINE: I was first looking for a good Criminal Justice program on the academic side. I was looking for a good baseball program that had a winning culture. The final expectation was knowing if the program would get me where I want to be as a player. It was very difficult the entire recruiting because it was hard to choose which schools I wanted to visit or would be a good fit for me.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
LAVEINE: I will be used as a utility player, so I will see time on the mound then looking to make a transition to third base. I will see time at both positions and be put in which one will help the team win.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
LAVEINE: Most memorable moment so far is having 12 strikeouts on the mound while also having 8 RBIs at the plate in the same night to break a school record.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
LAVEINE: By far the best player I've competed against is Keaton Winn who is now in the San Francisco Giants organization.
