Jared Poland - The #4 ranked player in the state and #124 overall in the country continued to showcase his advanced tools in game Saturday. In big showdown with Schnell and Roncalli, the senior Louisville commit went 2-3 at the plate with a triple, with 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored in front of a handful of pro scouts. The short compact, strong swing barreled baseballs all day, all pull side with ease. Ball jumps off the bat with an explosive but controlled swing. Looks more physical than last season, made all the plays in the field, showing off arm strength across the diamond from shortstop. Finished 1-4 in the second game against CG, hitting two balls hard pull side. One of the top hitters in the state with an advanced approach at the plate.

Nick Schnell - Almost a dozen pro scouts were in to see the #1 player ranked in the state, #34 ranked overall in the country. The 6-foot-2, ultra competitive and athletic twitch prospect did not disappoint, showcasing on the mound, at the plate, and centerfield. Started game 1 and went 4.0IP, giving up 6 Hs, 2 ERs, only 1BB, and struck out 7 CG hitters. Fastball was 89-91, touching a 92 in the second inning, showed command of the pitch to both sides of the plate. Changeup was a plus pitch with arm side fade at 74-75 to LHH, missed bats for strikeouts. Flipped in an average breaking ball with good shape at 76-77, kept hitters off balance. Advanced swing and bat speed at the plate, hit hard line drives pull side with carry in both games, easy left handed swing with power. Finished 2-6 on the day, made couple loud outs to CF and RF, 1 RBI, couple runs scored. Tracked a ball to deep CF in second game, runs and strides easy, made catch against the fence. Big time upside with advanced tools, will have a decision to make at end of season.
