Scouting Report

6/13/17:  Lean frame at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, the right-handed pitcher showcased a fastball commanded to both sides of the plate sitting 82-85, touching 86.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with feel in the zone; gradual break.  Change-up shows some fade to arm side.  Pitches from a high 3/4 slot with some wrist speed.  Across the infield, throws topped at 83 from a shorter, high 3/4 arm action.  Hands are above average with fluid footwork.  Works through the ball.  Hits from a wide, balanced setup with small leg kick. Level plane with above average bat speed.  High exit velocity of 87.

2017 Spring Scout Blog:  5-foot-11, 160 pound uncommitted junior sat 82-85 with a running fastball versus #3 ranked Fishers.  Meyer worked through some jams and fought for 6.1 innings.  Gave up 10 hits, 4 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break, good depth.  Change-up used well to lefties at 74-75 with arm side run.  Throws from a high 3/4 slot with above average arm speed.  Will need to fill in physically but could see a velocity jump if he does.

3/28/17 Game Notes: 5-foot-11 157 pound right-hander sat 84-86 in his one inning of work against the Greyhounds.  Pitched backwards with an 11/5 breaking ball at 73-74mph.  Meyer didn't get much help defensively, but he did end up giving 2 earned runs in his inning of work..  He has feel for both pitches in the zone.  Meyer also went 2-4 offensively while moving to shortstop after he pitched.

2/19/17: 5-foot-11, 157 pound MIF. Offensively, balanced setup, small leg kick timing trigger, over rotation with the lower half.  Above average bat speed, level swing plane, line drive approach.  Rhythm is choppy.  Good barrel control during his BP.  Registered a high exit velocity of 86.  Defensively, sure hands, packs during the exchange.  Flat feet.  Short high ¾ arm action with accuracy at 82 mph.  Ran a 7.10 in the laser-timed 60 yard dash.

5/21/16: 5-foot-10 145 pound righty allowed 4ER in five innings of work. throws from a 3/4 slot with above average arm speed, average balance, and some effort. Delivery is repeatable. Rhythm can be choppy at times but lands square. Fastball was 77-80 topping out at 81 with slight run. Curveball had 11/5 shape with gradual break and thrown at near FB arm speed.
