Top 10 Uncommitted '25 Outfielders

Cooper Trinkle
Lead Scout

Indiana's 2025 class currently boasts 27 division one commits to date, with lots of uncommitted talent still left on the board. Now that we have finished the fall season, we are beginning to go in-depth on the top uncommitted talent in the class, breaking them down by position. Today - we look at the top ten uncommitted outfielders in Indiana's 2025 class.

Maalik Perkins  CF / Whiteland Community, IN / 2025

Maalik is one of the most dynamic uncommitted '25s in the class - and that was loud & clear at this year's PBR Future Games. Perkins' foot-speed (6.33) is an elite tool, changing the game with his ability to go get the baseball in CF, which he could do at the division one level at this very moment. A multi-sport athlete that stands out as a ball-carrier on the gridiron, Perkins has the ability to get to top speed in just a few steps, a trait that will allow him to be a base stealing threat at a very high level. Perkins is full of quick-twitch fibers that allow his hands to catch up to premier velocity, and he stays within his approach as a hitter - consistently looking to line the ball head-high through the middle of the diamond. Despite the undersized frame, Maalik possesses two already plus tools (run & glove) that will undoubtedly provide immediate impact to whatever school lands this next-level athlete.

Jaxon Sparks OF / LHP / Carroll Fort Wayne , IN / 2025

There is plenty to like in the physical left-handers game. A two-way prospect, Sparks offers strength & athleticism within his 6-foot-2, 200 pound frame. A 6.75 runner at the PBR Future Games, Sparks pairs his straight-line speed with bat strength and power potential from the left-side of the dish. Sparks offers defensive versatility as an OF that can also play 1B. On the mound, the southpaw has run his fastball up to 87 mph, pitching consistently in the mid-80s. A strike-thrower - Sparks shows the ability to land a 1/7 shaped curveball in the low-70s, along with showing feel for a straight change in the mid-70s.

Riley Agbonhese OF / Zionsville Community , IN / 2025

There is all kinds of upside with this 6-foot-3, 170 pound outfielder. The long-levered, right-handed hitter had a big sophomore spring, showing a budding hit-tool against some of the state's top competition. The bat-to-ball skills he possesses, when combined with his athleticism, allows for the hit-tool to show up in-game and there is significant power potential within the operation. Agbonhese has fast hands that whip the barrel on a loose, level swing plane through the hitting zone. A 6.9 runner, Agbonhese offers above average arm strength from the OF (85 mph OF Velo).

Brandt Kendall OF / SS / Scottsburg, IN / 2025

A left-handed hitting OF that had a big fall - Kendall offers the ability to impact the game from the left-side of the dish to go along with advanced foot-speed. A 6.69 runner - Kendall shows tons of bat speed (Avg 78 mph per Blast Motion) that allows for present pull-side power and a max exit velocity of 98.8 mph. Kendall shows very strong rotational capabilities that stem from an efficient lower-half within the swing. The 6-foot, 180 pounder turns the barrel with authority on a slightly uphill path to match plane, allowing for true ball flight. To go along with his impressive foot-speed in the OF, Kendall also offers above average arm strength (88 mph OF Velo).

River Pecina CF / Penn High School, IN / 2025

A 5-foot-10, 165 pound centerfielder filled with quick twitch - Pecina offers the potential to stick in CF long-term due to an advanced run-tool. Pecina can really run underway and the tool translates to the offensive side of the ball, as well. The right-handed hitting outfielder hits out of a wide, balanced setup and uses a small stride with a quiet load of the hands in order to consistently get on time. The twitch is evident in the way that Pecina turns the barrel, getting on-plane deep in the hitting zone with quick bat speed. There is some present gap power, however Pecina fits more of the mold of a top-of-the-lineup, contact-oriented catalyst.

Gabe Mathison OF / LHP / Carmel, IN / 2025

Mathison offers a very interesting profile - an athletic, switch-hitting outfielder with present twitch to go along with two-way upside. The 6-foot-1, 175 pounder offers quick bat speed from both sides of the dish, working short & direct to the ball. The twitch allows for more impact than the frame suggests, as Mathison has registered a peak exit velocity of 95.8 mph. A good runner (6.85 60) - Mathison offers an intriguing combination of foot-speed and gap power. On the mound, the southpaw pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot that creates a tough look for hitters. The quick-armed lefty has been up to 84 mph on his fastball, sitting in the low-80s. The slot allows for sweep on a low-70s slider, getting to the back foot of RHHs and running away from the barrel of LHHs.

Drew Graft OF / Norwell, IN / 2025

A gamer-type, speedy outfielder. Graft's best tool is his foot-speed, turning in a 6.73 60 at the PBR Future Games. A multi-sport athlete, Graft hits from the right-side and sets up in a balanced, athletic stance at the plate, using a short, controlled stride with quiet hands to repeat a simple swing. Graft has quick hands with a direct swing that works short to the baseball - a contact-oriented approach to allow the foot-speed to show up in-game. There is some compact strength in the 5-foot-11, 175 pound frame that allows for some impact at the dish (92 mph exit velocity).

Landon Sarkey OF / LHP / Hanover Central , IN / 2025

Sarkey is another two-way prospect in Indiana's 2025 class that we have seen consistently produce in-game on both sides of the ball. His best tool is his left-arm, producing advanced arm strength from the outfield (91 mph) that translates to a mid-80s (T86) fastball on the bump. Sarkey shows feel for both the fastball and a 1/7 shaped curveball at 68-70 mph that he can flip over for strikes. The 5-foot-10, 175 pound left-handed hitter shows a short, simple stroke at the dish with fast hands and the ability to spray the ball on a line to all parts of the field with some strength.

Brayden Giesler OF / Jasper, IN / 2025

Giesler is an up-and-coming '25 prospect with traits to suggest his best baseball is well in front of him. A physical, 6-foot-3, 195 pound outfielder with strength and budding athleticism - Giesler hits from the left-side of the dish and turns the barrel on an upward plane with raw bat speed. The natural bat speed makes it easy to project power in the long run. A 7.12 runner - Giesler also offers above average arm strength from the outfield (85 mph OF Velo).

MJ Gaines OF / Park Tudor, IN / 2025

An upside '25 outfielder with athletic movement patterns - Gaines possesses athletic traits that makes him a very interesting '25 follow. The 6-foot, 175 pounder roams CF with above average foot-speed and his athletic gait makes it easy to project the foot-speed to continue to improve as he matures into more physical strength. Gaines offers solid arm strength (86 mph OF Velo) that comes from a full arm swing and whips to release. The LHH CF sets up in a tall, athletic stance and turns an upward barrel that gets on-plane early in the hitting zone. Gaines should mature into more bat strength as he adds strength to his lanky frame.
