No. 1 Archbishop Spalding

Spalding begins the 2024 spring season as our No. 1 private school in Maryland coming off back-to-back conference championship titles. The Cavaliers possess some of the deepest and most talented pitching that this state as seen in some time, led by one of, if not the top prep arms in the state in senior Jake Yeager. Coach Palumbo has a plethora of reliable options following Yeager, with the likes of a three-headed monster in juniors Peyton Mamula, Brayden Robinson and Nathan Wines. If there is any doubt about the future success of the Cavs, it is solely based around the offensive production. With that said, our staff believes this offense has the makings of becoming special with the likes of seniors Brennan Inscoe, Carson Merritt and Carver Salazar leading the way. Not talked about enough is the depth throughout the lineup that includes a plethora of junior talent in Drew Emrich, Theo Loughlin, Jack McNally, Jacob Ruiz and Dillon Stoltzfus. Sophomores Cruz Luna and Braeden Martin are also poised to make an impact at the varsity level this spring. The depth and spread out talent on this roster is eye-opening, and we see the offensive questions being answered early on this season.

No. 2 Georgetown Prep

Georgetown Prep has been one of the consistently great programs across the Old Line State, coming off their 4th consecutive IAC title in 2023. IAC Player of the Year Aiden Dubetsky is back and will look to lead the staff with the likes of highly talented arms in Raymond Huke, Andrew Duncan and Austin Weiss providing depth. Three highly talented lefties are at the top of the lineup in CJ Chatterton, Dubetsky and Ryan Maxey, followed by the physical backstop in Sam Weinstein and legit power threats in Will Twomey, Andrew Duncan and Austin Weiss. The high end talent is evident, and we see nothing changing in terms of success for Georgetown Prep in 2024.

No. 3 John Carroll

No. 3 and 4 were a toss up for our staff to pick from, as both John Carroll and Calvert Hall possess two of the more potent offenses in the state. John Carroll gets the nod early as we see a slight advantage in the depth on the mound for the Patriots, led by senior Aaron Snyder, junior Brooks Mueller and a trio of highly talented sophomores in Brycen Altland, Dalton Cole and Pierce Quinn. The offense will be led by three of the top junior bats in Dallas Brooks, Casey Carpenter and Will Rhine, with key offensive depth provided by fellow juniors in Andrew Jourdan and Cam Leach. If the pitching staff throws strikes and attacks hitters, allowing this offense to show off it's firepower, this should be an exciting year for coach Siler and the Patriots.

No. 4 Calvert Hall

There is no question that this offense has the makings of something special and the ability to really turn some heads this spring. An offense that may have the most talented depth in the state, led by a high octane junior class in Kaden Barmer, Will Haacke, Travis Peitz and Thomas Pilarski, while also bringing back senior power sticks in Michael Copenspire and Nick Bournousouzis should be fun to watch this spring. The question mark is on the bump, however we feel the pitching staff has the ability to become really good as the season progresses. Led by two junior arms in Peter Bashore and Nathan Rodriguez, the Cardinals will need the imposing righties to be consistent throughout the spring, as freshman Ryder Sowa is poised to make a big impact for the Calvert Hall pitching staff as well.

No. 5 St. Maria Goretti

St. Maria Goretti High School will be closing their doors at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, and coach Greg Eversole looks to make a lasting memory for the baseball program at Goretti in their final year. An ultra-talented roster featuring Division I committed players on both sides of the ball, the Gaels feature some of the more top end talent depth in the state. Led by a highly talented trio on the bump in Colin Fulmer, Andrew Kerns and Parker Sweeney, and an offense that has firepower throughout with the likes of Fulmer, Michael Goldsmith, Ty Hames, Warner Harper, Will Oates, Nicholas Petruzzello and Parker Sweeney, the Gaels have obvious depth and talent on both sides. Look for the 2024 spring to be an exciting one for the Gaels.
