Updated NJ 2025 Player Rankings (Spring 2023)

TJ Hunt
Director, PBR New Jersey

With the high school season in full gear, it's time for an update of the New Jersey 2025 Player Rankings. Taking into account performances from the fall, winter, and first half of the spring, we are giving the class of 2025 an update as we eye the end of the high school season and start the summer circuit.

The New Jersey 2025s possess some depth top to bottom. We wouldn't be surprised if there were some additional shakeups by the time the next update comes around. For now, let's review the top 10, risers, and dark horses as we head toward the end of the season.

THE BREAKDOWN

+ No. 1 Notre Dame commit SS Jamie Zee (Bergen Catholic) holds down the top slot through this edition of the rankings, while fellow Future Games teammate and Wake Forest commit RHP Marcelo Harsch (Seton Hall Prep) rises a few slots into the No. 2 position.

+ Miami recruit RHP Jake Lodgek (Mainland) is a guy to continue to watch for this summer. The fastball is in the upper 80s and possess a true 11/5 breaker that he can drop in for strikes, too.

+ Rutgers commit No. 4 SS Julius Rosado (South River) has picked up right where he left off this spring, slugging .914 with 4 homers and 10 doubles.

+ Maryland recruit SS/RHP Evan Taylor (Ocean City) has been equally as impressive this spring, with 5 homers and 9 doubles to boot.

HIGH RISERS

+ No. 6 LHP Jake Marciano (Donovan Catholic) is the lone uncommitted player in the top 10. Marciano burst on to the scene so far this spring with an advanced feel for the strike zone at 85-87 and a plus breaking ball offering with big, sharp 1/7 break. Expect Marciano to be highly sought after this summer once August 1st rolls around.

+ No. 12 RHP James Hare (Ranney) has already been up to 89 several times this spring and possesses a shorter, later breaking curveball for swings and misses. Hare is another guy to keen on this summer as yet another high end arm out of Ranney.

+ No. 19 Luke Guire (Bordentown) a Delaware commit just before the new rules went into place, was a standout at the Preseason All State showcase for his advanced bat-to-ball skills. A switch hitter, Guire has a smooth, easy load and creates some barrel lag through the zone.
