2025 Rankings Update: Spring Edition

Scott Hood
Oklahoma State Director

As we continue to roll through the spring season, we roll out our updated rankings for the 2025 class in Oklahoma.  The junior class is seeing more guys take on heavier roles on their respective programs and a few are starting to make the type of jumps that we expected from them earlier on in their careers.  We take a look at the two newcomers to the the Top 10 as well as 10 prospects that have seen their stock rise in this update.  This update also expands to 200 total prospects.  We will continue to be out all spring to catch the prospects in action and we are currently finalizing all of the details on our summer event schedule which should be released soon.

THE TOP 10

The top 5 remains unchanged from our last update and had two newcomers in a pair of OU commits making into the Top 10 in this update.  Kaemyn Franklin jumps up to number 6 after we got a look at him earlier this season where the right-hander worked the fastball 91-93 mph and showing a true swing and miss slider in the mid 80's.  Franklin has some of the quickest hand speed in the state and still has plenty of room to continue adding strength making his ceiling even higher.

Also making his debut into the Top 10 is Aidan Tomlinson from Dewar after a strong performance at the Preseason All-State where the 6-foot-5 and 200 pound right-hander worked the fastball up to 90 mph and showing a tight-shaped breaking ball that has a lot of potential.  Tomlinson has always had strong projectability and is now starting to really tap into his raw talent.

RANKINGS RISERS

Gaige Albright LHP / OF / Choctaw, OK / 2025

Albright showed his high-end potential this past summer as a represetative of Team Oklahoma at the Future Games.  There, the left-hander worked the fastball in the upper 80's and showed the makings of a swing and miss slider with tight-spin.  Since that time, the OSU commit by recent reports has continued to make a jump with the fastball life playing up and showing more command and pitchability than in the past.  Standing at 6-foot-4 and a lean 185-pounds, Albright still has plenty of room to gain size and strength to give him one of the higher ceilings in the class.

Conner Chambers RHP / 3B / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2025

Chambers continues to show big jumps each time we see him and had another strong performance earlier this year at the Preseason All-State.  The 6-foot-6 and 216-pound right-hander worked the fastball up to 90 mph and showed a tight cutting slider up into the low 80's.  Chambers also shows feel for a heavy fading changeup giving him a strong 3-pitch mix and future starter's profile.  Chambers should be a name to know for programs at the next level as he is still just beginning to tap into his potential.

Brayson Carter OF / SS / Blanchard, OK / 2025

Carter sees a slight jump in the rankings after we got another look at him earlier in the season.  A premium defender in the outfield that was recently named to our All-Defensive team, Carter seems to have shown a little more strength in the barrel.  The uncommitted outfielder has game changing speed and with his added strength at the plate and elite range in the outfield, Carter could fit nicely on almost any roster at the next level.

Caleb Hines RHP / OF / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2025

Hines sees a five spot rise in the rankings to number 26 in this update as he starts to show the makings of a breakout junior campaign.  In our recent looks at him, the right-hander worked the fastball 86-89 mph with strong life through the zone and a much improved breaking ball in the 78-80 mph range with tight spin and shape.  Hines also adds feel for an upper 70's changeup to help him navigate the lineup.  Metrically, Hines has the type of stuff that should not be ignored and it appears he is starting to make big jumps on the mound making him a name to know as one of the top uncommitted arms in the state.

Isaac Worden LHP / OF / Edmond North, OK / 2025

Worden sees his stock rise in this update moving up 8 spots to number 28 on the list after a strong performance at the Preseason All-State and recent looks at him in game.  The left-hander works the fastball in the mid 80's with a clean arm action and offers up a tough look against LHH with the breaking ball showing big shape and depth in the lower 70's.  Worden uses a cross-body delivery with heavy coil in the front hip creating tough angles on hitters and profiles as one of the top out-getters in the class.

Layton Bryan SS / RHP / Chickasha, OK / 2025

Bryan sees one of the bigger jumps in this update moving from 56 to 29th in this update after showing big jumps at the Preseason All-State.  The right-hander worked the fastball up to 88 mph with strong life through the zone and showing a potential swing and miss slider in the mid 70's with big spin and tight shape and a lower 70's curveball with bigger depth.  His ability to spin and shape the pair of breaking balls is a separator for him in the class and should be one for programs at the next level to take another look at this spring.

Cooper Frazier RHP / SS / Cascia Hall Prep, OK / 2025

Frazier sees a jump in the rankings from number 46 to 35 in this update as the right-hander put his potential high level stuff on display at the OKC Preseason ID.  While the fastball is still working in the mid 80's, the hand speed and clean arm action paired with his projectable and lean 6-foot-1 and 147 pound frame projects for far more velocity in the future.  Frazier's calling card is his ability to spin the slider where he recently worked it in the mid 70's and had a spin rate average of 2769 rpms.  The things Frazier does well is hard to teach and is just one jump in velocity away from being considered as one of the top right-handed arms in the class.

Brad Hoisington OF / RHP / Claremore , OK / 2025

Hoisington sees one of the larger jumps in this update moving from 81st in our last update up to 39th.  Hoisington shows strong 2-way potential with the fastball working up to 87 mph and a lower 70's curveball with late depth to the bottom of the zone.  Offensively, Hoisington shows some strength in the hands with an athletic swing and a big arm from the outfield.  The Claremore prospect still has plenty of room for growth both in his size and in his skills, but his raw abilities makes him a very intriguing prospect to follow.

Jackson Savoy LHP / 1B / Owasso, OK / 2025

Savoy continues to climb up the rankings moving up to number 60 in this update.  The left-hander recently showed a mid 80's fastball with tight spin at the Preseason All-State and showing an improved slider in the mid 70's with short action and depth.  Savoy also adds in an arm side fading changeup with fastball hand speed and strong sell.  Savoy has shown steady jumps on the mound each time we see him and should continue to see improvement as he continues to add strength to his 6-foot-1 and 197 pound frame.

Jake Ervin SS / 3B / Deer Creek, OK / 2025

Ervin sees a  big jump from number 141 to number 84 in this update after a strong performance at the Preseason All-State.  The switch hitting middle infielder shows an athletic swing from both sides of the plate with a strong sequence and use of the lower half.  Ervin shows smooth actions in the infield with solid glove work and soft hands.  Ervin should continue to see his stock rise as he keeps gaining experience and adding strength to his 5-foot-11 and 166 pound frame.
