Terriers Fall Trip: Quick Hits vs. Niagara County CC

Michael Stavraky

PBR Ontario and Terriers Baseball have partnered up for their annual Fall Trip as they travel through New York, West Virginia, Maryland and Ohio over ten days for games and workouts at college/university campuses. We have staff travelling with the group on the trip providing coverage of the games and workouts.

The trip got underway on October 6th as the Terriers crossed the border to take on NJCAA Division III powerhouse, Niagara County Community College. With the first game in the books, we take a look at four players who made a quick first impression on our staff.

2024 INF Marcus Delos Santos was one of the better hitters in Friday’s game against Niagara County CC. The uncommitted infielder has an athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds with flashes of power from the right-side. He showcased that power and hustle by drilling an RBI triple into the left-CF gap. Delos Santos is definitely an intriguing follow this week.

2024 LHP Aidan Clapp took the mound in the 5th for the Terriers and was generating plenty of weak contact during his one inning. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound uncommitted left-hander worked his fastball to the outside part of the plate, paired with a curveball that was fooling hitters with their timing. Clapp is a projectable southpaw to keep a close eye on this week.

2025 RHP/OF Caleb Verma got the ball in the 6th for the Terriers and is another projectable arm in the organization to keep an eye on this week. 6-foot-1, 157-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out and works from a ¾ slot with a repeatable delivery that generated weak contact throughout his inning of work. It was a quality inning of work against a strong college lineup of hitters.

2026 LHP/1B/OF Ryan Vickers took the mound for the Terriers in the 7th and worked a scoreless frame with one strikeout. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound southpaw worked his fastball to all parts of the zone and coupled it with a curveball that offers plenty of downward movement and was fooling hitters. Vickers is another arm to keep an eye on this fall trip.
