By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

With the early signing period for the Class of 2014 set to run November 13-20 announcements of verbal commitments have picked up dramatically in Pennsylvania over the past month.

Among the top 25 ranked players in the class all but five prospects have made their commitments. Catcher Dylan Evert (Bristol HS) at No. 9 is the only player in the top 10 still on the board. LHP LaRon Mitchell (Susquehanna Township HS), RHP/3B Nick Distasio (Olley Valley HS), C Drew Landis (Red Lion Area HS) and RHP Michael Hunter (Brandywine Heights HS) are also among the top 25 and uncommitted.

To date, 79 of the top 100 prospects in the rankings have announced their commitments. CLICK HERE to view the complete list of commitments from Pennsylvania in all classes.

on the horizon

With the early signing period just roughly four weeks away, several upcoming events are likely to initiate another onslaught of commitments. The Unsigned Senior Showcase on 10/19 and the Elite Prospect Showcase on 11/2 will bring in a host of talented, uncommitted seniors from across the state to showcase in front of college coaches one more time. Both events will take place at B2B Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA.

Sandwiched in between the two Prep Baseball Report events in Pennsylvania will be the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, Florida. Division I coaches will flock to Jupiter to get one final glimpse at talented prospects from across the country including a number of uncommitted seniors from Pennsylvania.
