Today we continue a series of articles looking at the top Class of 2016 prospects in the state in preparation for the release of the updated rankings scheduled for this Friday.
At No. 2 in PA and No. 15 in the PBR combined rankings, LHP/OF J.J. Bleday has the two-way abilities that will make him a coveted Division I prospect. Lean and athletic at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Bleday moves well on defense and has a cannon for a left arm (89 mph throw). At the plate, the left-handed hitter utilizes a toe tap and holds his hands in a good launch position. He has a smooth stroke, some barrel whip, and juice in his bat (91 mph exit velocity). Having shut it down for rest purposes, Bleday did not showcase on the mound, but has featured a fastball at 84-86 during previous events.
