2018 EARLY COMMITS

Cameron KutcheyCameron Kutchey, SS/3B, Smithsburg HS (MD)
PBR Rank: #60 in MD Class of 2018
PBR Notes:
6.20.17 - Kutckey is a projectable, 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. At the plate, he has a simple setup with some rhythm. He has a leg kick and feel for coiling well into his back hip. His hips fire and launch the barrel with easy on a path that matches the trajectory of the pitch. He generates a lot of extension and remains balanced when he finishes. In the infield, he has advanced footwork and rhythm throughout whole fielding process. His hands work well and are in sync with his feet.

Zane GrimesZane Grimes, RHP, Cumberland Valley HS
PBR Rank: #176 in PA Class of 2018
PBR Notes:
Grimes has a long 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame that projects for velocity spikes in the near future. He currently sits in the low 80s while topping at 85 mph. He has also shown a feel for an upper 60s curveball. Grimes went 1-0 as a junior while making 11 appearances totaling 13.2 innings. He finished with a solid 3.07 ERA while holding opposing hitters to a .245 batting average against. After graduating three pitchers to the college ranks who saw most of the innings last year, Cumberland Valley will likely look to Grimes to anchor their pitching staff in 2018.

David KellerDavid Keller, RHP, Indiana Area HS
PBR Rank: NA
PBR Notes:
Keller is a 5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitter who has put together impressive back-to-back seasons on the mound for his high school team. As a junior Keller went 3-1 with a 0.30 ERA. He worked 23.2 innings, allowing just seven hits and held opposing batters to a .093 batting average against. For his career Keller is 10-1 with a 0.82 ERA. He has thrown a total of 68.1 innings while allowing just 30 hits. Keller has registered 75 career strikeouts against 33 walks.

Brandon LingenfelterBrandon Lingenfelter, LHP, Somerset Area HS
PBR Rank: NA
PBR Notes: 5
-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed pitcher participated for Team Pennsylvania in the PBR Fall Kickoff Showcase tournament in August. Lingenfelter made six appearances for State College as a junior striking out nine in eight innings of work. He has shown solid feel for a fastball, curevall mix out of a 3/4 arm slot. Lingenfelter currently works solely out of the stretch and projects to make a contribution to the Lock Haven staff as a reliever.
