Hilbert is physically well put together with broad shoulders and strength both the upper and lower halves. As far as top performers go, Hilbert was a top performer in the position players without a doubt. Hilbert steps into the box with a power hitter presence and easily makes true of that statement. Hilbert's swing is pretty bare bones with no extra movements happening. With a simple leg lift and a front arm bar, Hilbert loads up the upper half and uncorks when the front foot gets down. It is a long swing, but when Hilbert finds the barrel he makes a lot of noise. Hilbert posted a 96.1 MPH max exit velo with a 63% hard hit rate in February when we last saw him. 

Defensively, Hilbert plays a little stiff with minimal bend in the knees and a lot of bend in the waist to field ground balls. Hilbert does have a soft glove that works nicely out in front. The feet are active throughout the field and throw process and he also stays low during the double play feed while throwing from various arm slots. Hilbert threw 83 MPH across the infield with accurate throws to the target. Hilbert could fit in at 1B later on in his career to find a home at the next level. Nick is one to keep an eye on, as this season could be huge for him to make an impact with his HS team and impress a coach at the next level.
